Environmental Audit

Environmental auditing is an instrument to determine the nature and extent of all areas of environmental impact of an existing activity. The audit identifies and justifies the appropriate measures to reduce the areas of impact.

Environmental Auditing is nothing more than a conventional audit process, but it also includes in its objectives, scope and evaluation criteria, the environmental issue. Therefore, this type of audit follows the same process as an operational audit.

a - sources of pollution and control and prevention measures;

b - use of energy and water and saving measures;

c - production and distribution processes;

d - product research and development

e - use, storage, handling and transportation of controlled products;

f - by-products and waste;

g - wastewater treatment plants (sewage);

h - contaminated sites;

i - renovations and maintenance of buildings and facilities;

j - breakdowns, accidents and emergency and mitigation measures;

l - occupational health and safety at work.
